With his clean cut good looks and his training in martial arts, Akshay Kumar smoothly made a transition from action hero to a romantic hero and then into comedy, keeping movie buffs glued to their seats as they wait for what this Khiladi has to offer next.

Akshay Kumar was born in Amritsar, in a Punjabi family. His father was a government employee.  Kumar was then raised in Delhi before moving to Mumbai where he studied at Don Bosco School and then Guru Nanak Khalsa College. He studied martial arts in Bangkok and worked as a chef. He then came back to Mumbai, where he started teaching martial arts. One of his students recommended him to do modelling and a few modelling assignments later, Kumar was offered a role in the film Deedar (1992) and too as the lead actor!

However, Kumar made his Bollywood acting debut with the 1991 film Saugandh, which was followed by the 1992 thriller, Khiladi. In 1994, his action films Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Mohra which were among the highest grossing films of the year. Later that year, he was seen in Yeh Dillagi which was also a success. During the same year, Kumar also had success with films like Suhaag and the low budget action film Elaan. All these achievements, promoted Kumar as one of the most successful actors of that year.

In 1995, along with his share of unsuccessful movies, Akshay starred in the third film in his Khiladi series, Sabse Bada Khiladi, which proved to be a hit. The fourth successful film with Khiladi in the title was, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, where Akshay starred opposite Rekha and Raveena Tandon. The film became one of the highest grossing films of the year.

In 1997, Kumar was seen in a supporting role Dil To Pagal Hai. In the same year, he attempted a comedy role with the fifth film in the Khiladi series, Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi; the film failed commercially. All his next Khiladi releases in the following years went on to fail at the box office.

In 1999, Kumar received critical acclaim for his roles in the films Sangharsh and Jaanwar. Then Akshay tried his hand at comedy quite successfully in 2000 with Hera Pheri, which was a laugh riot. His film with Shilpa Shetty and Sunil Shetty, Dhadkan, also was a good performer at the box office. His negative role in Ajnabee (2001) was well received and won him a Filmfare.

The years 2003 to 2006 saw him in Awara Paagal Deewana, Andaaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Garam Masala, and the sequel, Phir Hera Pheri.  Apart from his action, comedy and romantic roles, Kumar displayed a flair for dramatic roles in films such as, Aankhen, Bewafaa and Waqt: The Race Against Time.

Akshay Kumar proved himself yet again in 2007 with almost all of his films ending up as hits: Namastey London, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Welcome. Though his much-hyped film, Tashan failed to do well in 2008, Singh is Kinng did exceptionally well in India and overseas. Akshay has also become a producer. The actor does not charge any remuneration for most of his movies now and rather steps in as a producer and takes a cut in the profit of the film. His company is called Hari Om Entertainment.

In the meantime Akshay also made his foray into television with the show Khatron Ke Khiladi (a franchisee of Fear Factor). In 2010 he hosted another TV show called Master Chef India. However, in the past two years, Akshay’s stardom suffered as the actor saw several of his films flopping one after the other: Kambakkht Ishq, Blue, Action Replayy and Tees Maar Khan.

Kumar’s Patiala House and Thank You failed at the box-office in 2011. But in the same year his

other release Desi Boyz manged to do good business at the box-office.

Akshay will be seen next in Sajid Khan’s multi-starrer, Housefull 2 which is slated for a 5 April 2012 release. Other films in the pipeline include Joker, Rowdy Rathore, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 and Khiladi 786.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni started his first class career in the year 1999-2000. His one day international debut came after playing five years of first class cricket on the 23rd of December 2004 against Bangladesh. The venue of the match was in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Unfortunately, he was run out on the first ball he faced. It wasn’t a great debut for him where batting is concerned. Luck wasn’t on his side in the first four matches he played. Where as on the fifth match which was played against Pakistan in Visakhapatnam, Dhoni came to the crease one down and managed to score 148 runs from just 123 balls. He hit 15 boundaries and four sixes. He got his first man of the match award that day. Not only a good wicketkeeper but Dhoni proved himself to be a first class batsman too. He is one of the few finest wicketkeeper batsman India has seen after a very long time.
On the 31st of October, Dhoni broke the record of highest runs scored by a wicket keeper by securing 183 runs against Srilanka which was played at Jaipur. Adam Gilchrist was the former record holder with 172 runs.
Before he started playing cricket, he was a football goalkeeper. Its said he drinks around four litres of milk everyday but he denied it by saying that has been exaggerated a bit. He said he loves milk and drinks around a litre on a daily basis.
On the 2nd of December 2005, Dhoni made his Test cricket debut against Srilanka which was played in Chennai, India.

The runs didn't cease to flow for Umar Akmal, the younger brother of Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran and Adnan, in his maiden first-class season. In a triumphant 2007-08 for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, Umar failed to score in his first outing but then went on to amass 855 runs from nine matches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, at an average of 77.72 and an impressive strike-rate of 90.18. He showed a penchant for both brisk and big scoring, with knocks of 248 off 225 balls and 186 off 170. In January 2008, he was picked in Pakistan's Under-19 team for the World Cup in Malaysia. He was the leading run-getter - with 255 runs at a strike-rate of 123.18 - in a tri-nation tournament involving England and Sri Lanka in the lead-up to the World Cup. Inzamam-ul-Haq is a symbiosis of strength and subtlety. Power is no surprise, but sublime touch is remarkable for a man of his bulk. He loathes exercise and often looks a passenger in the field, but with a willow between his palms he is suddenly galvanised. He plays shots all round the wicket, is especially strong off his legs, and unleashes ferocious pulls and lofted drives. Imran Khan rates him the best batsman in the world against pace. Early on he is vulnerable playing across his front pad or groping outside off stump. He uses his feet well to the spinners, although this aggression can be his undoing. Inzi keeps a cool head in a crisis and has succeeded Javed Miandad as Pakistan's premier batsman, but his hapless running between wickets is legendary and most dangerous for his partners. There were no such problems against New Zealand at a boiling Lahore in 2001-02, when Inzamam belted 329, the second-highest Test score by a Pakistani and the tenth-highest by anyone. However, he was then dogged by poor form, scoring just 16 runs in Pakistan's ill-fated World Cup campaign in 2003. He was dropped from the team briefly, but then roared back to form, scoring a magnificent unbeaten 138 and guiding Pakistan to a thrilling one-wicket win against Bangladesh at Multan. After scoring a magnificent 184, Inzamam led the team astutely on a tense final day and took Pakistan to victory. Since that day, Inzamam has gone from strength to strength as captain and premier batsman. By scoring a hundred against West Indies in June 2005, he kept up a remarkable record of matchwinning centuries, amongt the best of modern-day batsmen. A magnificent year ended with Inzamam leading his team to triumph over Ashes-winning England; personally the series was arguably his best ever. He never failed to make a fifty, scored twin centuries at Faisalabad for the first time, going past Miandad as Pakistan's leading century-maker and joining him as only the second Pakistani with 8000 Test runs. As captain, he never looked more a leader, uniting a young, inexperienced team and turning them, once again, into a force to matter globally. The turn of the year brought contemplation; he missed the Test victory over India at Karachi with a persistent back injury. The subsequent ODI thrashing also raised concerns about Inzamam as ODI captain, none of which were entirely wiped away during ODI and Test wins in Sri Lanka. Pakistan were then beaten comprehensively in the Test series in England though all was forgotten - including Inzamam's own poor form - by events at The Oval. There, Inzamam, astonishingly for a man perceived as so insouciant, became the most controversial figure in cricket for a week, leading his side off the field in protest at charges of ball tampering made by umpires Billy Doctrove and Darrell Hair. They refused to come out at first, then delayed the start before eventually forfeiting the Test, the first time in the history of the game. In Pakistan, he became a national hero, saviour of a country's pride and honour. He was banned for four ODIs and returned to lead the side to a series-win over West Indies followed by a disappointing Test series in South Africa, and then quit the one-day game after Pakistan were eliminated from the World Cup at the first hurdle, an event overshadowed by the death of Bob Woolmer. Even though he expressed his desire to be part of the Test team, Inzamam was not offered a central contract in July and, according to a few, might signal the end of his illustrious international career.

He, however, made that decision himself after signing up for the Indian Cricket League and faced a life-time ban from PCB. He later quit the ICL and made himself available for selection. The second Test against South Africa in Lahore was his farewell game. He fell just two short of Javed Miandad's record for the highest Test aggregate by a Pakistan batsman and 60 short of a career average of 50.
